Yesterday I went with a canadian houseguest to the indianpolis museum of art. Nice collection, a Weegee exhibit, a Van Gogh I hadn't seen. 100 acres of gardens, and a mansion the Lilly family lived in for awhile. I've lived here 16 years and never been.
Enjoyed a painting of horse-drawn trolleys on the street I live on, a lite rail system.

Monday update: I liked the museum, but it struck me as overstaffed, a lot of employees, many in uniform, basically standing around doing nothing. Today I read that 50 of them were laid off, mostly replaced with work-study students from a local college.

Washinton Post has the new GOP pledge to America. pdf
This is our Pledge to America.
We pledge to honor the Constitution as constructed by its framers and honor the original intent of those precepts that have been consistently ignored – particularly the Tenth Amendment, which grants that all powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.

Haven't read the whole thing (tl:dr) but I like what I've seen of it.

tynan on integrity. he nails it as usual.

Instapundit links to a corrected version of Asimov on the defense of Fort McHenry.
My father and I didn't get along well, but one time he took me to hear Asimov speak, knowing I would enjoy it, which I did. I very dimly recall that his text was something about how the evolution deniers need to explain not just how species happen, but what makes a light bulb light up when you flick the switch - because the explanation we have, the, er, current one, no longer works if we reject science by rejecting evolution.

william gibson interview

O'Donnell just won delaware. with 78% in, i'm calling it. 47-53.
My mom says if Coons wins the senate race, that means his spot as president of the new castle county council goes to, i forget the name but it's bad news. Paul Clark.
(O'Donnell is widely thought to not be able to win the general election. She's cute, but has odd far-right views about sex. Not my flavor of far right.)
the more i hear from her, the more i like her.
