The Indy police are the best in the world
I don't believe one of these stories I've heard
'Bout them raiding our pubs for no reason at all
Lining the customers up by the wall
Picking out people and knocking them down
Resisting arrest as they're kicked on the ground
Searching their houses and calling them queer
I don't believe that sort of thing happens here
The club I've been going to most monday nights for the last 15 years was raided recently. 7 or 8 of the dancers were cited for public indecency and fired, and the lights in the back row are turned up higher than usual. The Unicorn Club is organized as a nonprofit private club, and the proceeds fund cancer and aids research. The dancers are volunteers who work for tips. It's where I met Dannon, and Corey, and Arabian, and Mitchell. Fired: Taz, who has been there 20 years (and looks it), Beau, Prince, Brogan, Gemini, Garret, one more I'm not sure who. If I were a better person, I'd get active, make a few emails, try to recruit a lawyer or two, see if we can do a benefit somewhere. I probably won't get around to it.
Donations may be sent to unicorn club 13th and illinois indianapolis in 46204or A small circle of friends POB 29164 Cumberland IN 46229-0164.
So sit back and watch as they close all our clubs
Arrest us for meeting and raid all our pubs
Make sure your boyfriend's at least 21
So only your friends and your brothers get done
Lie to your workmates, lie to your folks
Put down the queens and tell anti-queer jokes
Gay Lib's ridiculous, join their laughter
"The buggers are legal now,
what more are they after ?"

Bad teacher trailer, cameron diaz.
He was lying in a hospice bed, three days before the end, when I brought him the news that Arte Publico Press would be reissuing his old novels and bringing out two new ones, including one of his very best, The Old Gents. from chiches for aspiring writers, by a yglesias who is not matt. I wonder which is better, a life of frustration, with success right at the end, or moderate success followed by a withering away? I'll apparently have neither.

Alaska state rep refuses TSA grope of her mastectomy scars, drives home from Seattle
Cory Doctorow at 11:34 AM Tue
Alaska State Rep Sharon Cissna, a breast cancer survivor who has had a mastectomy, was barred from flying home to Juneau from Seattle by the TSA when she refused to allow a screener to touch the scars from her operation. She drove home instead. Apparently she is always selected for an invasive "hand screening" because the "irregularities" presented by her prosthesis when viewed through the pornoscanner raise the TSA's suspicions. As others have observed, the War on Terror is really a War on the Unusual -- it's the systematic erosion of rights for people with nonstandard appearance, health, itineraries, and beliefs, without regard to whether those "irregularities" are correlated with terrorist activity. It's as though the TSAhas said, "All terrorists are engaged in something unusual, therefore all unusual occurrences should be viewed as potential terrorism."
"So last night, as more and more TSA, airline, airport and police gathered, I became stronger in remembering to fight the submission to a physical hand exam. I repeatedly said that I would not allow the feeling-up and I would not use the transportation mode that required it."
"For nearly fifty years I've fought for the rights of assault victims, population in which my wonderful Alaska sadly ranks number one, both for men and women who have been abused. The very last thing an assault victim or molested person can deal with is yet more trauma and the groping of strangers, the hands of government 'safety' policy."
"For these people, as well as myself, I refused to submit."

Sharon Cissna is a breast cancer survivor, and did not want to be groped again by TSA. So she refused the screening and was not allowed to fly. She's also a member of the Alaska legislature, and isn't going to be quiet about what happened. — By arbitraryaardvark at 8:33 PM Mon

In Kansas, no right to yell bitch in a crowded theater.
I think the statute is unconstitutional for the usual reasons.

dannon singing, but mostly some other guy.
youtube videos of dannon's memorial service, which raised $5000 for theatre on the square plus funeral expenses. one of the first websites i ever built was a fan page for dannon. i wish i still had those pictures, but that was many computers ago.
when i ran for judge 10 years ago he was my campaign manager. we were friends for 15 years. this is a bit of a shock. i only found out because i was catching up on twitter. it's been cold and my volvo's been in the shop so i havent been going out.
