http://www.speakeasy.net/ speedtest/
I usually use speedtest.net, but the above url also worked.
The signal on the megabus was 1% of what I get at home.
After awhile it was easier to just give up and read a bad book about johnny depp.

Wired reports on a disease infecting coffee plants across Central America that could lead to shortages around the world. "Regional production fell by 15 percent last year, putting nearly 400,000 people out of work, and that’s just a taste of what’s to come. The next harvest season begins in October, and according to the International Coffee Organization, crop losses could hit 50 percent." The disease is called coffee rust, and it has been damaging crops to some degree since the 1800s. It's not known yet exactly why coffee rust has become such a problem now, but one of the leading suspects is climate change. "Since the mid-20th century, though, weather patterns in Central America and northern South America have shifted. Average temperatures are warmer across the region, with extremes of both heat and cold becoming more pronounced; so are extreme rainfall events." The fungus that causes coffee rust thrives on warm, humid air, and higher temperatures have allowed it to climb to higher altitudes than ever before. But another likely cause is the way in which coffee is planted and harvested these days: the plants evolved as shade-dwellers, but are now often placed in direct sunlight. They're also clustered closer together, which facilitates the spread of disease. "The integrity of this once-complicated ecosystem has been slowly breaking down, which is what happens when you try to grow coffee like corn."

IND. DECISIONS - 7TH CIRCUIT DECIDES ONE INDIANA CASE TODAY
In UNITED STATES OF AMERICA v. JAVIER MUNOZ (SD Ind., McKinney), a 10-page opinion, Judge Hamilton writes:
Pursuant to a plea agreement, defendant Javier Munoz pled guilty in 2007 to distributing and possessing cocaine with intent to distribute, but he fled to Mexico before his sentencing. It took the government five years to track him down and extradite him. When he finally faced sentencing in 2012, the district court imposed a sentence of 181 months in prison, which was below the advisory sentencing guide line range. Munoz has appealed, arguing that at the time of sentencing, the government breached the plea agreement by (1) advocating a base offense level higher than the parties had agreed in the plea agreement, and (2) recommending a sentence in the middle of the guideline range rather than at the bottom. As we view the case, however, it was Munoz, not the government, who materially breached the conditions of his release and an implied term of the plea agreement by fleeing the country rather than showing up for sentencing. Munoz’s breach permitted the government to treat the plea agreement as having been rescinded. We affirm.
this would seem to violate due process and the escape rule. robinson v state of missouri 1993. but i haven't read the case.

Yesterday i was googling to see what ever happened to Brewington v State, an Indiana case where a blogger is in jail for criticizing a judge. Eugene Volokh and Jim Bopp filed an amicus brief for many organizations, including the Indy Star, Nuvo, and my friend Sheila Kennedy, urging the indiana supreme court to take the case. Today they did.
