The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office has presented 30 police-action fatality cases to grand juries since 2008, none of which have resulted in indictments. Those cases are not limited to shootings and include officers from a variety of agencies, not just IMPD, office spokeswoman Peg McLeish said.

"Springfield panhandling ordinance ruled unconstitutional": Illinois Times has this report on an opinion on panel rehearing that the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit issued Friday.

I saw a sign downtown that seemed to prohibit any panhandling, and I thought it was out of line.
i'm not a big fan of panhandling in general, but there are limits to what the government can do to discourage it.

gencon went ok this year, not the best, not the worst. photo is a hobo friend of mine i knew from wil wheaton's soapbox some 10 years ago. did see summer glau, and got a food truck samosa. i just confused myself for a minute about which were samosas and which were mimosas. when i was a kid the neighbors across the street had a mimosa tree.
