just heard a big band arrangement of "dream a little dream of me"
i don't know if it's this one. i just know the song as a mamas and papas tune.
not sure whose was first.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dream_a_Little_Dream_of_Me
ok it's from 1931, 60 versions out there, but the mamma cass one is the best known.

I'm on the road a lot these days. One thing I notice is when a McDonalds' bathroom isn't as clean as it might be.

http://boingboing.net/2016/03/23/blizzard.html
I spent today running from this storm, got out of nebraska in time. I'm about halfway across missouri, trying to drink enough coffee to keep going.

I'm in a coffee shop in the small town where i went to school 25 years ago,and a song came on, "if ever i lay with you" edit: The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face. roberta flack. It's the better known version but I first it by Orielle Smith, a really obscure folksinger. The internet's never heard of the album "A voice in the wind" but it was the sweetest version of the alan lomax type appalacian folk songs, sung by a 17 year old opera-trained girl in 1963.
http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/orrielsmith has "Forever in the wind" Same girl maybe 50 years later.

This is about my 7th cup of coffee today, in lieu of sleep. I was in Missouri yesterday, Nebraska today, and am trying to get home to Indiana.

I didnt know until just now that the song was written for Peggy Seeger. I really like her "Engineer's Song."

"The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" is a 1957 folk song written by British political singer/songwriter Ewan MacColl for Peggy Seeger, who would later become his wife, to sing. At the time the couple were lovers, although MacColl was married to someone else. Seeger sang the song when the duo performed in folk clubs around Britain. During the 1960s, it was recorded by various folk singers and became a major international hit for Roberta Flack in 1972, winning the Grammy Awards for Record and Song of the Year.Billboard ranked it as the No. 1 song of the year for 1972.[1]

wow there are like 100 recorded versions. If i get time i might track down some of them and see if i can splice together a mashup version.

Photovoltaic solar sails?

Be the first one on your block to combine these two discoveries into a thin strong lightweight solar sail that could power an ion drive, superconducting ring, or other such propulsion mechanism.
Shining a laser at it might be another way to give it some ooph once it gets too far from the sun.
(had a lot of coffee and not much sleep today.)
