Somebody on xkcd forum said webcomic copper was good. Google led me here to a blog that hunts webcomics. Copper was ok and led here http://rts.lunistice.com/part1/1_22.html which starts off well but be warned it's an unfinished symphony; guy started it at 16 and quit at 23.
I just spent 3 hours banging out the first draft on an amicus brief about west virginia's election code. I certainly didn't do anything else all day.

There are three species: the widely distributed common wombat and the much rarer southern and northern hairy-nosed wombats. Above the Law. more pics

Wired expose of Zapp, a company I used to own stock in. I made money on the stock, but the electric scooters they were going to sell never really took off. Article has the backstory.

A couple of recent slashdot stories I submitted:

A Step Towards Proving the Riemann Hypothesis
Posted by kdawson on Thursday March 20, @02:50PM
from the prime-time dept.

arbitraryaardvark writes "A new mathematical object has been discovered by Bristol University student Ce Bian. The Riemann hypothesis, unproven since 1859, has to do with the distribution of primes and something called L-functions. Bian has demonstrated the first known third-degree transcendental L-function. This apparently opens up a new way to go about looking for proofs of the Riemann hypothesis. There is an unclaimed $1 million prize for a valid proof. We've discussed a couple of earlier attempts to claim the prize."

The Seattle Times reports that spammer Robert Soloway has pled guilty to mail fraud and tax avoision, in exchange for the state dropping multiple iffy counts of identify theft. Wikipedia. Slashdot previously covered his arrest and mention in the New Yorker. The wire fraud felony count is based on selling $500 packages to wannabe spammers.

here is the oral argument in the dc gun case.
It actually sounds very promising, although there are lots of loopholes the court could use to avoid doing much. Pdf of the transcript.

The Websnark on knowing Gary Gygax, the guy who invented D&D and Gencon and Dragon and so forth. Died the other day. Here's Wil Wheaton's take on it. I was not myself ever a D&D player, but in high school I hung with the geeks who played. We had a Sunday afternoon soccer game and they'd all go over to Henry's house for whichever board game it was at the time. I still can't relate to a game where it takes a month to learn the rules and a week to set up to get ready to play. Now Henry's a lawyer for a bank, Rick's a rocket scientist, Robert is a doctor, the other Robert went into the military, and I don't know what happened to Greg.
I like to say that the only games I play are chess, monopoly, and elections, but actually I've been playing computer hearts and solitaire, vegas rules, today, compulsively. Saturday night I went to a wake for Gygax at Barfleet Academy, so I'll be sleeping late tomorrow.

Virginia Supreme Court split 4-3, upholds conviction of spammer based on idea that a spammer lacks standing to raise first amendment overbreadth issue. Dissent cites Watchtower, McIntyre. 50 pages, fairly obscure stuff to non-lawyers. I decided not to try to post it to slashdot.
