Moore v. Madigan could be the next 2nd Amendment case to make it to the supreme court. The 7th circuit narrowly denied rehearing.
The issue is Illinois' ban of carrying loaded guns in public. This is a natural enough next step. Heller was about guns in the home. McDonald was about whether the 2nd applies to the states.

what i plan to read on the bus tonight:
what i'm reading now:
killer stiff and tons of money:
seeking history and hidden gems in flea-market america, maureen stanton.

Homeland was very good.  Read it on the bus. I liked the part where our hero stumbles into a tent at burning man, and it's Wil playing D&D with John Gilmore, John Perry Barlow, and Mitch Kapor. Now Mitch to me is just some guy in a suit I heard give a speech in 1992, but John Gilmore I've hung out with three times, including at that 1992 EFF conference, had email once, and he's a friend of my brother's. Barlow I haven't met. I'm Will's obsessed fan. he's introduced me to blogging, to Cory, to reddit and xkcd and half the places I go online.

silence of the lambs, left it in buffalo. read 100 pages of red dragon, an earlier book in the hannibal lecter series, while killing time in a coffee shop.
i saved a copy of the 7 pillars of wisdom by lawrence of arabia to reread sometime
when i can't get online.read 1/2 of it on the bus.
reading some plutarch, about alcibiades, solon, cicero etc.

just made an $8K offer on a fixer-upper duplex a few blocks from here. update: got outbid.

"If everything people say de Tocqueville said that he didn't actually say [google.com] were put into a single book, I'll bet it would be longer than Democracy in America."
