hmm i havent updated this in a while. just need some content....

Last night I thought I was making a mistake, driving northwest to reach nebraska, instead of going to kansas city and then north, because there were strong storm winds going on in wisconsin. i passed 20 trucks and 50 cars tsuck in snow off the side of the road today. but it turns out US 70 in Illinois was shut down for awhile with flooding.

I was at my mom's for the holiday with no internet, just a nearby coffeehouse, so i ended up paying $20 to infiniti or whoever it was, xfiniti wifi, for a week of internet, because they have a customer close enough for me to get signal. it's an interesting short term solution as we figure out how to get the cable company to add internet. I have no problem admitting that I'm an internet addict I get the shakes if if I have to go a few hours without being able to log in.

So now I've updated 4 of my blogs, checked email and reddit, googled 4 thing that needed googling, anything except work on the brief i'm a month behind on.

Last week astronomers from Sweden and Mexico claimed to have discovered two of the most distant objects ever found in our solar system.
One of the objects, they said, could be a 'super Earth' located six times farther away than Pluto, but there's a chance it could also be a brown dwarf - also known as a failed star.

One of my roommates was talking about this at dinner, and then i ran into the video online.
(something wrong with the way some text displays, haven't figured out how to fix that. the more i try to fix it the worse it gets, i'll probably just have to delete the post.

"all the sodium we eat is really just seasoning us for the bears."

I really missed reddit this weekend; glad to be back.

sunrise in indy yesterday. didn't see it, i don't stay up that late.

I'm testing a new, old, computer. $100, windows 7, feels like 6 pounds of Dell.
I'll probably keep this as a backup machine.  I was headed to a picnic on maui and had my $200 walmart pink laptop in the same compartment of my backpack with some overripe brie, a combination that seemed to have shorted out the on-off switch when the brie exploded.

Just finished Ingrid Bergman's autobiography and am now halfway through William Gibson Zero History. Oh and I read the most recent paperback Grisham on the plane. I have not read 50 books this year but maybe I get together a blog post of 10 or 15 books I've read this year. I spend most of my time online but still get in a book now and then.

update: tuesday's sunset. didn't see that one either.
